Consumer Insights

Know the people.
Know what moves them.

Your customers are more than a demographic or a line on a dashboard. Understand the needs, habits, tensions and moments that shape their choices, so your next decision begins with a clearer view of real people.

01 / THE DECISIONSTART WITH WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The numbers tell you what happened. People can tell you why.

Sales can rise while loyalty weakens. A campaign can reach the right audience and still fail to connect. When the explanation is missing, it is easy to invest in the wrong fix. Consumer insights help you see the decision from the customer’s side: what they were trying to achieve, what stood in their way, and what finally tipped the balance.

01 / QUESTION

Who is really choosing us?

Identify meaningful audience groups by needs, context, behaviours and attitudes, not only age or income.

02 / QUESTION

What job are they trying to get done?

Find the practical and emotional outcomes people seek when they consider your category.

03 / QUESTION

Why do they hesitate or switch?

Surface the trade-offs, doubts, triggers and alternatives that influence the final choice.

04 / QUESTION

Where is the unmet need?

Spot problems people have learned to tolerate and opportunities your business could address.

02 / WHAT WE EXPLOREDEPTH WHERE IT MATTERS

A fuller picture of the human decision.

The right study may be exploratory, measurable or both. We select methods around the decision you need to make, then connect the signals instead of treating any one answer as the whole truth.

01

Needs and motivations

Explore what matters most to customers, what they are trying to improve in their lives, and which benefits feel worth paying for. We look for the difference between what people say they want and the context in which they actually choose.

02

Habits and decision journeys

Map discovery, comparison, purchase, use and repeat behaviour. Understand who influences the decision, where friction appears, and which moments create confidence or doubt.

03

Meaningful segmentation

Group people by needs and behaviour that can guide a real action: whom to serve, which proposition to make, how to speak to them and where to meet them.

04

Concept and message response

Hear how different audiences interpret a promise before you build a campaign around it. Reveal language that resonates, claims that confuse and expectations a message creates.

03 / THE HUMAN STORY

The person behind the purchase is the point.

Imagine a customer who walks past your product, returns to it, then chooses something familiar instead. A transaction record captures the last step. It cannot show the uncertainty about quality, the advice from a friend or the previous experience that made “familiar” feel safer.

Good consumer research follows the whole moment. It lets you replace a convenient assumption with a more useful explanation, and gives your team something concrete to change: the offer, the message, the experience or the audience you focus on.

FROM ASSUMPTION TO UNDERSTANDING
04 / THE PRRD EXCEL DIFFERENCE

How PRRD Excel makes the human story useful.

We begin with the business decision, then design the conversation around the people whose behaviour can change it. Our field researchers are briefed to listen without leading, respect participants’ time and consent, and capture the context around an answer. That discipline matters: a vivid quote is valuable only when you know who said it, under what conditions, and how it fits with the wider evidence.

PRRD Excel brings field observations, carefully framed questions and structured analysis together. We distinguish a genuine pattern from an isolated anecdote, show where groups differ, and translate the learning into choices your marketing, product and leadership teams can act on.

05 / HOW WE WORKFROM BRIEF TO BETTER DECISIONS
A CLEAR ROUTE THROUGH THE WORK

Thoughtful at every step. Useful at the end.

01

Frame the decision

We agree what you need to decide, who matters to that decision and which assumptions deserve testing.

02

Listen in context

We use interviews, observation, surveys or a suitable mix, with respectful recruitment and clear research purpose.

03

Find the pattern

We compare voices across relevant groups and test whether the explanation holds beyond one memorable story.

04

Turn insight into action

We connect motivations and barriers to specific opportunities for your offer, communication and customer journey.

06 / WHAT YOU TAKE FORWARDRESEARCH THAT TRAVELS INTO ACTION

What you can take into the next meeting.

A study should leave your team with a shared understanding and a clearer next move.

01 / OUTCOME

Audience portraits with purpose

Clear needs and behaviours that help you make targeting and proposition decisions.

02 / OUTCOME

Drivers and barriers

The reasons people choose, postpone, leave or return, with the context that makes those reasons useful.

03 / OUTCOME

Opportunity map

Needs you can serve better, messages you can sharpen and moments you can improve.

04 / OUTCOME

Evidence with limits

A candid account of what the research supports and what still needs testing.

07 / BEFORE WE BEGIN

Good questions deserve straight answers.

You do not need a perfect brief to start a useful conversation. Here are a few questions clients often bring to us.

Do we need a finished brief before speaking with you?

No. Bring the decision, a concern or even a strong hunch. We can help turn it into research questions and identify the audience and method that would make the answers useful.

Is consumer insight only for large brands?

No. A focused study can help a smaller team avoid spending on an untested assumption. Scope should match the decision, available budget and level of confidence you need.

Will interviews alone tell us how many people think this way?

Interviews are strong for understanding why and how people think. If you need to estimate prevalence, we can add a suitably designed quantitative phase and explain its sampling limits.

THE NEXT MOVE STARTS WITH A QUESTION

Listen closer. Move smarter.

Tell us the customer decision you are trying to understand. We will help shape a study that turns human perspective into a practical direction.
